  • Our History

It started with one hive.

Greenville Honey Company was started six years ago when we bought our first hives from a bee swarm catcher.  That same year we bought three nucs (young beehives) from a local beekeeper who was a mentor.  After many splits (dividing hives into more young hives) we were well on our way into the honey business.  We owe our success to local bee vendors for their advice, kindness and help with equipment. Taking their expert classes on beekeeping and suppling us with many packages of bees.  We are now responsible for managing many hives in and around the upstate area.  Becoming members of the Greenville Beekeepers and the Spartanburg Beekeepers clubs was a great help to our business.  Now we have multiple apiaries (a bee hive yard with many hives) in the upstate of South Carolina and beyond. As a family owned business, we are just simple country folks with a passion for bees, beekeeping and honey.
